Jumia, the African online shopping company, is teaming up with Zipline to use drones for quick delivery in Ghana. They plan to do the same in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire soon.
Jumia will use Zipline is fast delivery system to bring products to people’s homes, especially those in faraway places.
This partnership is happening because more people in rural areas are using Jumia. Last year, 27% of orders came from these places. This will motivate Top Supermarkets, Stores and Mall that sells and buy Grocery, Furniture and other Home Appliances
Apoorva Kumar, who works at Jumia, said, We will use the latest delivery technology to bring products to our customers quickly. Zipline’s system will help us reach remote areas where normal deliveries are hard.
The drones in Ghana can carry up to 11.8 liters or 6.6 lbs (3 kgs) of stuff. This means they can only deliver certain products.
Zipline and Jumia are working together to make shopping easier for people in Africa. They want to bring more products to customers and help small businesses grow. Zipline is fast and safe delivery system will make shopping on Jumia even better.
The partnership began after a successful test between Jumia’s centers in Ghana.
